Since the age of the troubadours, playing guitar and singing have gone together. But guitar playing and singing require different skills and learning sequences. For guitar students wanting to also learn singing, Dr. Berlin offers several repertoire tracks. Because they are in the public domain and have staying power, the core singing repertoire consists of folk songs. Dr. Berlin supplements this repertoire with popular songs of interest to students.

Guitarists who include the singing track in their lessons, will need a capo. Using a capo allows you to put songs in a key that coincides with your vocal range.
